Our Farm Shares Include:

Good, Honest Produce

Stony Ridge Farm is a small homestead with a 1-acre market garden, 40 laying and 50 broiler hens. We do not use industrial agro-chemicals, we primarily grow heirloom varieties of vegetables alongside raspberries, strawberries and melons.

Diverse Options

We design our growing year to ensure shares that have enough food for 2 adults for the week ahead. Most weeks we have salad and cooking greens, root vegetables and fruit. This is where you go to see our 2016 crop rotation plan.

Freshness

We rarely store our harvests, so your share contains vegetables, mushrooms and fruit that is most likely harvested just hours before landing on your plate. Make sure to check out the Farm Share Cooking blog category!

Flexible Pickup

We offer a flexible pick-up schedule for those who wish to see where their food is grown and meet a couple of aging farmers, chickens, goats that faint and McKeever, farm dog extraordinaire.

Home Delivery

We offer a delivery option to households whose schedule does not allow for pick-up at the farm. We deliver to Jefferson County, WV and Baltimore, MD along the I-83 corridor. We get good food to busy people!

Vacation Pausing

We pause your share for vacations, emergencies, or just to let you catch up on eating on your yummies. Our small size allows for flexibility and attentive customer service. We hate food waste as much as you do!

The Story of Our Share Offerings

Years ago, back in Baltimore, we participated in a traditional CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). We came up with a big chunk of cash sometime in late winter and then received a big bag of wonderful produce for about 25 weeks each year. We liked it, but we had many wishes about how it could be fashioned to serve our needs much better. Things like: easier payment options, more diversification in the weekly share, less in the weekly share…perhaps you have had such an experience.

Fast forward some years and you find us in a position to create the Farm Share (CSA) of our dreams. We call it a farm share to keep the lingo from getting in the way of you getting fresh food on a regular basis. This is our second full year, and we have great hopes of going 4 seasons!
